C&D recycling magazine launched
Chicago — Intertec Publising, which publishes American City & County, has begun publishing C&D Debris Recycling, the nation’s only publication dedicated to the growing industry of construction and demolition debris recycling. The magazine will be published seven times in 1997, with the first issue having appeared in January. The magazine will also provide the only Buyer’s Guide in the industry.
It is estimated that construction and demolition materials comprise from 17 percent to 28 percent of the nation’s waste stream. Currently, just 20 percent is recycled, a low amount considering that some European countries recycle as much as 75 percent of their building debris.
William Turley, former cement editor of Rock Products, is the magazine’s editor. Turley is currently executive director of the Construction Materials Recycling Association and program chair for the annual Construction Materials Recycling Seminar.
