Washington, D.C. — The Campaign to Make America Walkable, a project sponsored by the Bicycle Federation of America, will host the 1997 National Pedestrian Conference, Making America Walkable, Sept. 2-6 in Washington, D.C.
The conference will offer workshops on special needs of children, elders and persons with disabilities; expanding citizen involvement; public policy; environment; quality of life; safety; law enforcement; public education; accessibility; infrastructure; facility design and health and fitness.
It will also focus on the reauthorization of ISTEA.
