Center For Technology In Government Launches Justice Info-Sharing Study
The U.S. Department of Justice has awarded $503,000 to the University at Albany’s Center for Technology in Government (CTG). The CTG confirmed plans to use the award to create a capability-assessment model for Justice Department information-sharing.
The center intends to collaborate with the National Governors Association and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers to develop the model.
CTG director Sharon Dawes notes development will emphasize creating an information-sharing system accessible to the Justice Department and related agencies.
The CTG said law enforcement agencies used different methods and software applications to collect data in the past, which prevented effective information sharing between agencies.
