Commonwealth Invites Review of Statewide IT Infrastructure Program
The Commonwealth of Virginia has chosen two companies to provide an information technology (IT) infrastructure proposal under the Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002.
As part of this phase, the Commonwealth has requested that the two companies submit a detailed proposal on ways they would transform and improve the Commonwealths statewide IT infrastructure to ensure quality services are delivered to state agencies and the citizens they serve. The IT infrastructure includes network services, desktop and e-mail, data centers, customer care services, and other infrastructure projects and services. If selected for this contract, Northrop Grummans IT sector will support the transformation of the IT infrastructure of 90 executive branch agencies that transitioned over the last 18 months to the Commonwealths consolidated technology agency, the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA).
VITA is pioneering a model for information technology governance and operational excellence.
