County Wins With Content Management Process
Scott County, one of the fastest growing counties in Minnesota, received a Process Innovation Award from Kinetic Information, LLC, for a content management deployment. This award honors superior technology applications for their business effectiveness.
“It is rewarding to have our Stellent-powered e-government initiative recognized for its ability to help the county efficiently manage and share information both externally and internally,” says Gary Shelton, Deputy County Administrator for Scott County. “We continually receive positive feedback from our residents about the county’s enhanced public Web site, which provides extensive information about news, events, volunteer opportunities, land records, tax information, and governmental services.
“In addition, our intranet is much more robust, giving employees instant access to the business content they need to better serve our constituents,” says Shelton. “As a result of our e-government initiative, we have reaped cash and productivity savings totaling approximately $865,000 over four years.”
Kinetic Information, LLC, a strategic business consulting firm for buyers and sellers of information technology, created the Process Innovation Awards in 1996. Co-sponsored by IMERGE Consulting, the program named Scott County one of six “Innovative Solution Award” winners for its application of technology returning substantial business benefit.
