IAC Selects Top 20 Excellence.gov Finalists
The Industry Advisory Councils (IAC) Collaboration and Transformation Shared Interest Group (C&T SIG) announced the programs selected as the Top 20 candidates for the sixth annual Excellence.Gov awards program. The program finalists, selected for demonstrating best practices in information sharing for federally-led IT program implementations, will be honored at a luncheon on February 15th featuring a keynote by Congressman Tom Davis.
Each year, the Collaboration and Transformation SIG (formerly the eGovernment SIG) identifies a theme for the Excellence.Gov awards. This years finalists are being recognized for their programs success in meeting information sharing objectives with collaboration and the use of best practices. A panel of 23 judges, representing both government and industry, selected the Top 20 after reviewing more than 80 entries and evaluating each on the following criteria: effectiveness of meeting the objective in terms of overall mission, business process and service improvement; effectiveness of the approach and degree of collaboration across organizations; and incorporation of industry and government best practices and standards related to information sharing.
The Top 20 programs will be recognized for their achievements and five winners will be announced at the Excellence.Gov Awards ceremony and luncheon with keynote Congressman Tom Davis, taking place on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C.
