Boston’s Big Dig is covered by an $800 million insurance policy that could help cover repairs and lawsuits that result from a fatal July 10 ceiling collapse. A memo from the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority revealed the insurance coverage, but Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney says that eventually lawsuits against contractors in charge of the project will have to pay for repair costs, according to The Boston Globe. Also, legislators voted against Romney’s proposal to take $31 million from a long-planned greenway project to help pay for Big Dig repairs.
