San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders is vowing to follow all of the recommendations made by the New York-based risk management firm Kroll in a report that found serious problems with the city’s financial management. The report found mismanagement of the city’s reporting, accounting and disclosure procedures dating back to 1996 and continuing today, faulting almost three dozen city officials including former Mayor Dick Murphy, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. Kroll made 54 recommendations that, if the city does not follow them voluntarily, could be imposed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
