Former Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell apparently will have to begin his 2½-year prison sentence on Monday now that an appeals court judge has denied his request for an appeal bond. The bond would have allowed Campbell to remain free while he appealed his March conviction in federal court on three counts of tax evasion. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Campbell’s request without explanation.
