The Huntsville Police Department bomb squad for the second straight year has taken top honors at the Alabama Robot Rodeo Championship for use of its Mini-Andros II F6A remote-controlled robot.
The robot was acquired with homeland security funding and is similar to ones used in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is used to destroy bombs and in hostage situations.
