Insect-prevention tree band
The BugBarrier Tree Band, made of a dense, flexible fiber, wraps around tree trunks to fill bark crevices. Its adhesive film barrier with Top Wrap centralizes collection of eggs and larvae. After climbing down the trunk during the day to protect themselves from predators, caterpillars are trapped on the way back up in the evening; adult flightless female moths, prevented from reaching upper branches to deposit their eggs, will often simply lay them right below the area of the trunk where they have been blocked. The Tree Band contains no pesticides or pheromones, and has been tested against gypsy moths, spring and fall cankerworms, forest tent caterpillars and winter moths.
