Sunbelt Rentals expands into Oklahoma with new General Tool location
Fort Mill, S.C.-based Sunbelt Rentals has opened a new General Tool location in the Oklahoma City area, the company’s first branch in that state. “Operating from the state’s largest city and having convenient access to several major highways positions us well to service contractors and homeowners throughout the greater area,” said Joe Phelan, president and chief executive officer.
Located in Yukon, Okla., the new branch is easily accessible from Interstates 40 and 44, and will serve all of central Oklahoma. The 5,300-square-foot facility and accompanying five-acre yard will house more than $3 million in equipment, comprised of the company’s core offerings for industrial, commercial and specialty contractors, and do-it-yourselfers.
Spanning more than 600 square miles across four counties, Oklahoma City is not only the state’s largest city but also one of the top five largest cities in the U.S. based on geographical area. “From the onset of our plans to open the new location, the response we’ve received from those who live and work in the area has been warm and inviting,” said Sunbelt Rentals district manager Mike Godoy.
With the Oklahoma City opening, Sunbelt Rentals now has a presence in 35 states and the District of Columbia.
