Webinar: Managing consumer devices in the government IT environment
As government employees bring their own high-tech devices into the workplace, they expect to be able to use them as productivity assistants. However, government IT security, privacy and compliance become issues of concern for IT managers as personal devices are used to access government networks and information.
As part of the Oct. 16, 2012, State & Local Government Summit, Microsoft experts will present a session titled, “Consumerization of IT for Government — Best practices for striking a balance in between user expectations and enterprise requirements.” During the 45-minute webinar, they will offer tips and best practices for finding the right balance between allowing consumer devices and maximizing their productivity potential for the organization. They also will describe tools available for government IT agencies to manage personal devices, including Surface, Mobile and managing iPads with Intune.
The webinar, which will be held from 2 to 2:45 p.m. EST on Oct. 16, is part of the State & Local Government Summit, a one-day online conference that includes five education sessions and a virtual exhibit hall.
