City of Tucson awards equipment contract
Tucson, Ariz., has selected the Bloomington, Minn.-based Toro Company as the single awardee for sports field, parks and golf course ground maintenance equipment. The new five-year agreement extends the relationship Toro has had as the supplier of equipment and service for the city’s more than 110 public parks and five public golf courses for the previous five years.
The city of Tucson conducted a solicitation process in the nationwide search for a supplier. The agreement is available to public agencies and non-profit entities nationwide via the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance (National IPA) cooperative purchasing program.
“We are very pleased to be working with the city of Tucson on all of its professional grounds maintenance needs,” says Darren Redetzke, vice president for Toro’s Commercial Business. “Toro has a long history of working with communities around the world to ensure their outdoor spaces are well maintained. We appreciate the efforts of the National IPA in offering this new contract on the national scale.”
“This cooperative agreement provides great value for the city of Tucson, Toro, and agencies nationwide,” says Ken Heckman, vice president at National IPA. “Through this partnership, other public agencies can benefit from pricing based on aggregate spend and the convenience of a contract that has already been competitively solicited and awarded by a public entity.”
