You want fries with that?
Henderson City, Nev., city manager Jacob Snow says the city’s logo needs to be changed into something that doesn’t make people’s mouth water. See, Snow says someone once mistook the logo on his business card for, that’s right, a hamburger, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The problem, Snow says, is that the city’s logo is such a mishmash of multiple images that it doesn’t reprint clearly on small items, like business cards. “It just all blends together, and it looks like a hamburger,” he told the newspaper.
The current logo is an ambitious design. It has more than 14 colors and includes images of houses, people, a mountain, a golf course, a rising sun, the desert and a saguaro cactus. That plant, incidentally, isn’t even native to the Mojave Desert where Henderson is located.
It’s all just too much, Snow says. He directed the city’s communications department to design a new logo. The new design should be ready by summer.
City officials say they will go slow, gradually phasing in the new look. It will be used first on digital items and items that need to be replaced, like business cards.
There are no plans, yet, to alter the current logo in the terrazzo floor outside the City Council chambers. It’s a super-size hamburger — 10 feet in diameter.
