Using your head
One Boston commuter was using his head to beat traffic last week.
And that isn’t a turn of phrase. He was actually using a mannequin head, propped up in his passenger seat, to use the HOV lane during the Thursday morning commute, according to The Boston Globe.
The 32-year-old man attempted to fool law enforcement and breeze through the northbound morning rush hour using Interstate 93’s carpool lane, police told The Boston Globe.
But something about the “passenger” didn’t look right to Trooper John Carnell, who was working motorcycle detail that day. “The position of the neck didn’t seem right,” the officer told the paper.
Carnell stopped the motorist and discovered the fake head, complete with a drawn-on mustache, thick curling eyelashes and hazel eyes. “On a scale of ten, I’d give this one a five,” Carnell told the paper. “Maybe the eyelashes add a little something.”
The man was handed a $50 fine for operating on an excluded way, the Associated Press reports. Police confiscated his inanimate friend.
