Police and firefighters have dangerous jobs. A total of 100 law enforcement officers have died so far in 2014 in the line of duty, says the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. To date, 69 firefighters have died on the job in 2014, estimates the U.S. Fire Administration.
