California firm expands mower lineup

Torrance, Calif.-based Kubota has introduced the ZD Series zero-turn mower lineup: the ZD1000 and ZD1200. The series features the company’s Aerodynamic Cutting System (ACS), which delivers power efficiently for fuel efficiency and fast cutting performance, according to the company.

Kubota diesel engines drive the models. The mowers have hydrostatic transmissions and pivoting front axles. Available deck widths are 48, 54, 60 and 72 inches. The ZD Series’ suspension seats offer rider comfort, and the LCD display panel on the ZD1200 allows easy monitoring of vehicle functions.

The company is also offering three new commercial walk-behind mowers: a 36-inch gear drive model (WG14-36), a 48-inch hydrostatic drive model (WH15-48), and a 52-inch hydrostatic drive model (WHF19-52). The photo to the left shows one of the firm’s walk-behinds.

Kawasaki V-twin gas engines power the models. The WG14-36 uses a five-speed gear drive transmission, while the WH15-48 uses Hydro-Gear variable displacement pumps with Parker wheel motors. All models feature welded steel decks, maintenance-free spindles, electric clutches and adjustable cutting heights ranging from 1 3/8 to 4 5/8 inches. They are suited for most common grasses.
