Storage equipment vendor wins cooperative contract (with related video)
The county of DuPage, Ill., has awarded Spacesaver Corp. a contract that will be made available nationally by the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance (National IPA/TCPN). Through the contract, the company will supply storage equipment and related services to current and future National IPA/TCPN participants.
Spacesaver is a provider of a variety of storage solutions. The contract allows governmental organizations, such as municipalities and educational institutions, to purchase the firm’s products and services at nationally leveraged contract pricing without duplicating the competitive bid process. National IPA/TCPN participants will have access to products and service through the firm’s nationwide network of authorized dealers and distributors. The photo below on the left shows a Spacesaver gear bag locker that has been installed at the Skokie, Ill., police headquarters. The lockers have improved storage of police tactical gear, evidence and personal belongings.
Through the agreement, customers will receive local support in project planning, product installation, and ongoing service, says Mark Haubenschild, Spacesaver’s executive vice president.
The national cooperative contract award was presented and evaluated based upon bid responsiveness, product quality, customer service, and the ability to carry out a nationwide contract-selling program. The county of DuPage awarded contract #P15-150 to Spacesaver effective 4/1/2016 through 3/31/2019, with two one-year extensions available. The award is the result of a national competitive solicitation for supplying “Systems Furniture, Free-Standing Furniture, Seating, Filing Systems/Equipment, Interior Solutions and Related Products and Support Services.”
National IPA/TCPN serves public agencies and educational institutions nationwide. All the organization’s cooperative agreements have been competitively solicited and publicly awarded by a public agency/governmental entity (e.g. state, city, county, public university or school district), using public procurement practices, processes and procedures. The lead agencies are independent of the cooperative. This allows the agency to focus on the best value for the agency, according to the company. National IPA/TCPN is an optional program with no minimum purchase requirements and no fee to participate.
