Use this planer to mill walkways and other tasks
The SP8/GH9HP surface planer is suited for a range of work applications in government facilities. Use it to mill misaligned sidewalks and joints and remove thermo and cold plastic markings. It can also be used to prep floors for new coating applications. The manufacturer is General Equipment Co.
A 9.0-horsepower Honda GX270 four-stroke gasoline engine powers the unit. The planer is built with a unitized, welded steel plate frame, full-length hexagon driveshaft and extra-capacity ball bearings. The machine has a maximum cutting depth of 5/8 inches, a cutting width of 8 inches and a cutting proximity to a vertical wall of 3-1/4 inches.
The machine’s bearings are externally greased to extend the unit’s service life. Cutting depth is adjusted using a screw-type, positive-locking depth selector. The unit’s wheels are located behind the drum; this makes it easy to cut through high spots. Precise weight and balance enhance operator control and machine maneuverability.
The manufacturer offers electric- and pneumatic-powered surface planer models. General Equipment Co. is a family-owned manufacturer of earth augers, ventilation blowers, asphalt cutters, surface preparation equipment and temporary lighting equipment. The firm is based in Owatonna, Minn.
