Auto parts firm will continue to provide products and services to public agencies through cooperative pact

U.S. Communities will continue its partnership with Advance Auto Parts through the award of its auto parts and accessories contract. Charlotte, N.C., the lead public agency, awarded the exclusive contract (Number 2017000280). The contract start date was January 1, 2017 for a three-year term with the option to extend the contract for two additional two-year periods.

“As part of the competitive re-solicitation, Advance was selected based on their proposal which offered a great value and the most advantageous solution for public agencies to procure quality automotive products and services at competitive prices,” Karen Ewing says in a statement. She is Deputy Chief Procurement Officer for the Charlotte, N.C. city government. Ewing said the contract would be available to participating agencies across the U.S.

The partnership between Advance and U.S. Communities will extend through December 2019. The new contract represents an extension and expansion of the benefits and services Advance began providing to U.S. Communities agencies in 2011. Go here for more details on the partnership.

U.S. Communities is a government purchasing cooperative organization created by public agencies for public agencies. The coop helps secure more than $2 billion in products and services for participating agencies each year. Through its partnership with Advance, U.S. Communities will ensure that more than 55,000 participating government, education, and nonprofit entities in the U.S. receive access to automotive products and services, offered at fair prices. U.S. Communities participating agencies are eligible for special pricing on parts and accessories for fleet vehicles, as well as more than 600,000 parts available from Advance for light, medium and heavy-duty cars and trucks. Tiered volume discounts are available under the contract. Advance will offer instructor-led and web-based technician training programs to participating U.S. Communities agencies, and partner with participating agencies on online parts ordering and customized inventory management solutions. Parts and services are available from these suppliers: Advance, Carquest and Autopart International.
