Smart and connected cities are key discussion topics at IWCE’s Critical LTE Communications
As more and more cities need to learn about the technology and connectivity needed for smart cities, connected buildings, advanced transportation and enhanced utilities, IWCE is hosting discussions at its Critical LTE Communications Forum. Taking place November 6-7 at the Four Points by Sheraton Chicago O’Hare, IWCE’s Critical LTE Communications Forum brings together key industry leaders to discuss the role of LTE in smart communities.
Led by moderator Jason Nelson of the Smart Cities Council, the discussion, Critical LTE’s Importance to Smart Cities and IoT, will bring together panelists John Muhlner of Verizon Smart Communities, Peter Murray of think tank Dense Networks and Maggie Goodrich, former CIO for public safety for Los Angeles, and Chair of the Board of the Public Safety Technology Alliance.
In addition, as some local governments consider connecting to FirstNet, the nationwide public safety broadband network, and other cellular-based networks, hear a panel discuss who controls the technology especially during an incident. If the networks get overwhelmed, how can first responders continue to ensure their voice and data communications can still get through? Moderator Julia Kanouse from the Illinois Technology Association leads Corey Reynolds from San Francisco’s BayRICS Authority, Chris Kindelspire of association partner NPSTC and Robert LeGrande II, former CIO of Washington DC and founder of consultancy The Digital Decision, LLC.
It’s not just smart communities and control. The two-day Forum will discuss the importance of cybersecurity to connectivity, the difference between 4G and 5G, and connecting new LTE networks to 911.
