Capitalizing on hybrid work, these 10 cities are ready to take advantage
Hybrid work is an accelerating trend that’s becoming the norm as attitudes rapidly change. And amid this nationwide shift to work-from-home setups, local governments are moving quickly to capitalize on the emerging opportunities that come with a workforce that’s not physically tied to any particular office building.
For administrators seeking to entice remote workers to their cities and counties, key metrics—like cost of living, housing affordability, internet speed and employment rates—can be telltale signs of desirable destinations for digital nomads. A new report from Extra Space Storage ranks the best communities for those looking to cut chords.
The report takes into account metrics like cost of living, median home prices and rent, household income, unemployment rate and state income tax. Internet speed and coverage are also considered.
“Each statistic was then given a specified weight, with a maximum score of 15 points. Upon calculating these scores, each city was ranked from highest to lowest,” a brief about the ranking says. “Only one city per state was chosen in our top 15 list to provide a more diverse list of cities regionally and nationally.”
A list of the top ten ranked cities that are in position to take advantage of the hybrid work trend can be found above.
