Webinar: How Pennsylvania reformed its criminal case management system

Tracking criminals through the justice system presents a challenge for government IT managers, as several local and state agencies may store and use a variety of information about offenders throughout their time in the courts and corrections systems. Many different records may exist for a single offender in several agencies, making it difficult to obtain a universal view of all the information about one person. A webinar on Oct. 16, 2012, part of the 2012 State & Local Government Summit, will describe how Pennsylvania addressed those problems using a new software platform.

During the 45-minute session titled, “Breaking Down the Silos: Reforming the PA Criminal Justice System Using Unified Case Management,” Rita Reynolds, director of Technology Services and Telecommunications for the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, will explain how the association used a Unified Case Management system, built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM, to provide a platform to facilitate information sharing at the department, county and state levels. The system has significantly improved the efficiency of case management throughout the offender lifecycle, while improving public safety and ensuring timely due process for everyone involved.
