ADA Employment: That’s the Ticket
As part of an ongoing campaign to encourage communities to build networks of employment for people with disabilities, Maximus has formed a national alliance with five strategic partners to enhance awareness of the Social Security Administration’s (SAA) Ticket to Work program. The National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) will lead the alliance, which also includes the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Center for Workforce Preparation (CWP), U.S. Conference of Mayors, (USCM), National Association of Counties, (NACo), and the Wilder Foundation/Center for Communities (WCC).
Under the ticket program, the SSA provides disability beneficiaries with “tickets” they may use to obtain services and jobs from a group of organizations called Employment Networks.
“This collaborative approach is designed to create greater awareness of the Ticket Program in five major U.S. metropolitan areas, market new business and social enterprise opportunities, and meet employment demands through local, strategic public and private partnerships,” says Stephanie Powers, CEO of the National Association of Workforce Boards.
