The owner of a Los Angeles parking lot company faces 310 misdemeanor counts of withholding parking taxes from the city, and he could be sentenced to 150 years in jail. Officials say Prestige Parking owes the city at least $400,000 in taxes, money they hope to recover in a civil lawsuit, according to the Los Angeles Times. Attorneys for Prestige say the criminal charges against the company are retaliation for a $5-million complaint Prestige filed against the city for revealing that the company was one of several the city recently audited.
