Record public-sector job losses have helped drive the rate of union membership for U.S. workers to an all-time low, according to new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Private-sector union membership dropped from 6.9 per cent to 6.6 per cent of workers. The combined rate of American union membership now stands at 11.3 per cent.
