Submit your nomination for the Deming Award
Graduate School USA is now accepting nominations for the 2013 W. Edwards Deming Award. The deadline for submissions is March 25.
The W. Edwards Deming Award is awarded annually to a government organization that demonstrates transformative training excellence and recognizes those who have pursued employee education initiatives that measurably improved the organization¹s performance and impacted its mission. Federal agencies are invited to submit nominations.
The award’s namesake is W. Edwards Deming, who taught at the Graduate School USA for 20 years. Deming is known as the father of Total Quality Management. His work has been described as the third stage of the Industrial Revolution, and incorporated the idea that employees at all levels of private industry and government have a responsibility to cooperate to produce excellent products and services.
The award enables government agencies to share their learning experience and gain recognition among their peers. Previous award winners include:
2012: Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Aviation Test and Evaluation University
2011: Social Security Administration, Office of Appellate Operations
2010: National Park Service, Park Facility Management Division
