Grasshopper snowthrowers deliver “no-clog” performance in deep or heavy, wet snows. A discharge spout controlled from the operator’s seat rotates 180 degrees to propel snow up to 30 feet away. The snowthrowers feature heavy-gauge welded steel construction, a high-speed 12-inch-diameter auger and a heavy-duty replaceable scraper blade for reliability season after season. Options include an enclosure and heater. Snowthrowers are available in 48- and 60-inch widths for all Grasshopper zero-turn FrontMount power units.

Salt and sand spreaders

Salt and sand spreaders are available in two models. The 6.5-foot Model 625 is available in stainless steel, and the 8-foot Model 815/825 is available in stainless and carbon steel. The spreader features a Briggs & Stratton Intek OHV air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-cycle engine. An in-cab control console operates the electric starter, clutch and throttle functions. Options include hopper screens, side extensions and tie-down kits.

Angle broom

The hydraulically driven angle broom attachment from Bobcat sweeps surfaces and may be used for snow removal without damaging pavement. It can sweep flush to a curb or wall on the right side. The attachment is available in widths of 48, 68 and 84 inches, and has a high-torque motor for heavy materials. The broom features replaceable wafer bristles and storage stands to eliminate bristle distortion when not in use. Three of four models have a fingertip control for hydraulic angling.

Snow Dragon melters deposit snow and ice into a hot-water bath integrated with heat exchanger tubes. The melters are ideal for users with space limitations, congestion issues or high-security requirements. The company makes a variety of portable melters. The SND900 offers users a convenient way of moving the melter from site to site and is rated at melting 12- to 14-tandem truckloads per hour. The SND1800 is designed for users with big commercial sites and hospitals as well as for municipalities and departments of transportation; the unit is rated at melting 33- to 38-tandem truckloads per hour.
