New national cooperative contract awarded to provide travel management services
UNIGLOBE Travel Designers has been awarded a national cooperative contract to provide travel management services to government agencies and educational institutions throughout the U.S. The contract is available to participants in the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance Company (National IPA) cooperative purchasing organization. Region 4 Education Service Center in Houston, Texas, competitively solicited and publicly awarded the contract to UNIGLOBE Travel Designers. Through the agreement, UNIGLOBE’s services will now be made available to all members of the Region 4 Service Center and National IPA participants.
The three-year contract lists UNIGLOBE Travel Designers as the only travel-management company on a preferred list of vendors. The contract includes an option for two one-year renewals.
National IPA serves more than 48,000 agencies in the public sector, including school districts and other government entities. It is dedicated to serving the public sector. The cooperative assists agencies and institutions to streamline the request-for-proposal process (RFP) while satisfying requirements for transparency by offering a comprehensive portfolio of awarded contracts. Region 4 Education Service Center, lead agency for National IPA, is one of 20 regional education service centers in Texas formed to help school districts and charter schools improve efficiencies and student performance.
Once a public agency or educational institution registers with National IPA, they have access to all nationally awarded contracts available in the portfolio. Agencies can register at no cost.
Contracting for travel needs makes sense for government agencies and educational institutions, said Elizabeth Blount McCormick, president and co-owner of UNIGLOBE Travel Designers. “Outsourcing this need allows the employees in these organizations to focus on their top priority, which is to serve their citizens. Meanwhile, being part of this cooperative purchasing network gives them access to a trusted travel-management company that can help them keep costs at a set amount while taking advantage of the 24/7 emergency customer service that our company offers.”
Using UNIGLOBE Travel Designers’ service through the cooperative purchasing contract available through National IPA benefits government agencies and educational institutions in several ways, according to the company. It reduces administrative burden, delivers product cost savings by offering nationally leveraged pricing, provides efficiency and economy in acquiring goods and services, and ensures contracts are competitive through the complete purchasing procedure.
UNIGLOBE Travel Designers is a Columbus, Ohio-based company. It is a minority- and women-owned travel-management company. The full-service company offers more than 35 years of experience specializing in corporate and leisure travel.
