Atlanta police Web site to offer neighborhood crime info.
Later this month, Atlanta residents will be able to obtain up-to-date information about crime in their neighborhoods by visiting the Police Department’s Web site. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, visitors to the site will be able to "type in an address, select the types of crimes they want to examine, then view those crimes within a half-mile surrounding that address. Information will reflect the previous three months." "We’re adding these tools to help us help people combat crime," Atlanta Police Officer Robert Stanionis, who develops the Web site, told the newspaper. "People will be armed with information. Neighborhood watches will be abl to see what’s going on in the neighborhood." For more information, visit
