E-mails show Oregon police chief intervened on behalf of clerk
E-mails that were evidence in a city investigation indicate that a former Portland police precinct commander did try to intervene with city officials to arrange better days off for a desk clerk he was dating. According to The Oregonian, former Northeast Precinct Cmdr. Derrick Foxworth was trying to work around union rules to get clerk Angela Oswalt days off that would give them more time together. Foxworth, who has been promoted to commander of the Portland Police Bureau’s Southeast Precinct after being demoted in connection with the relationship, says his dating Oswalt did not violate any policy. Oswalt has filed suit against the city saying she was harassed by co-workers to reveal her relationship with Foxworth.
